Gain the skills to work in professional theatre production and stagecraft in the Technical Theatre diploma program at Capilano University. In the program, you'll learn about the history of performance and gain an understanding of the roles and responsibilities of a professional theatre crew. You'll receive a thorough grounding in the art of stagecraft by applying various skills and tools in lighting, sound, scenic construction, prop making, scenic painting and stage management to produce numerous productions. As you progress, your training evolves into practice, providing hands-on technical and creative support to various live events in the BlueShore Centre for the Performing Arts on both professional and student productions. Basic requirements Current high school students Grade 12 students can apply for conditional admission based on their final Grade 11 and/or interim Grade 12 marks by uploading their most recent grades (e.g., unofficial transcript or a report card) through EducationPlannerBC. Final admission depends on high school graduation and meeting the specific requirements of the program. Note: Applicants from B.C high schools must release their grades to CapU via the BC Ministry of Education at Student Transcripts Services (STS) as soon as possible. |
